We’re excited to announce that Propeller has been shortlisted for two categories at the UK Digital Excellence Awards 2025! These nominations reflect our team’s unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding digital experiences for our clients. We’re incredibly proud of the hard work, creativity, and collaboration that went into bringing these projects to life—and, of course, the stunning websites that have made such an impact.

About the Awards

The UK Digital Excellence Awards celebrate the most innovative and impactful digital work in the industry. They recognise the individuals, agencies, and brands who push boundaries, set new benchmarks, and drive impressive growth through digital strategies. The awards cover a wide variety of categories, from technical brilliance to growth-driving strategies, showcasing the best ideas and results in the digital space.

We’re proud to share the two projects that have earned us this recognition:

Standout B2C eCommerce Website of the Year – 200 Degrees Coffee Roasters

We’re incredibly proud that our collaboration with 200 Degrees Coffee Roasters has been shortlisted for Standout B2C eCommerce Website of the Year. This category honours the most innovative and impactful B2C websites that captivate customers with user-friendly design, powerful functionality, and exceptional customer journeys.

About 200 Degrees

200 Degrees is a fast-growing coffee chain headquartered in Nottingham, with an expanding presence across the UK. As the brand scaled, they needed a robust new website to reflect their growth and enhance their eCommerce capabilities. Propeller worked closely with 200 Degrees to create a seamless online experience for coffee enthusiasts and businesses alike.

The Challenge

Our goal was clear: to create an engaging, personalised online coffee experience for every coffee lover—whether they were buying beans, coffee equipment, or booking barista courses. We focused on delivering an authentic, user-friendly experience that reinforced 200 Degrees’ commitment to quality while driving conversions to support the brand’s continued growth.

Key Features of the 200 Degrees Website

  • Tailored user journeys: We designed distinct pathways based on customer needs (eCommerce, shops, barista schools, and wholesale), ensuring every visitor can easily find the coffee experience they are looking for.
  • Mobile-first design: We prioritised mobile-first browsing to ensure a seamless and intuitive experience across all devices, meeting the needs of the modern coffee lover on-the-go.
  • Conversion-focused design: Through strategic UI/UX enhancements, we improved the site to drive conversions, leading to a 37% year-on-year (YoY) increase in conversion rates during Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Innovative Features

  • Dynamic map regions: Interactive maps highlight the origins of coffee beans and the locations of shops, boosting customer engagement.
  • Seamless subscription experience: Integrated subscription pages allow customers to easily reorder their favourite coffee blends on a regular basis.
  • Brand authenticity: The website’s design mirrors 200 Degrees’ in-store branding and personality, ensuring consistency across both digital and physical spaces.

The Results

Since launching the new website, 200 Degrees website has seen remarkable growth, particularly during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period:

  • 37% YoY increase in conversion rates (2023-2024).
  • 60% YoY increase in sessions resulting in cart additions.
  • 66% YoY increase in sessions that reached checkout.
  • 46% YoY increase in new customer sales.

The 200 Degrees website has set a new benchmark for coffee eCommerce, blending cutting-edge technology with a deep understanding of consumer behaviour. The result is a highly personalised shopping experience that reflects the brand’s commitment to quality and excellence.

Standout B2C Website of the Year – Young’s Pubs

In addition to our work with 200 Degrees, we’re excited to announce that our collaboration with Young’s Pubs has been recognised as a finalist for Standout B2C Website of the Year. This category celebrates business-to-consumer eCommerce websites that redefine the online experience, deliver seamless transactions, feature innovative elements, and drive exceptional sales growth.

About Young’s

Young’s is a historic British pub company, operating over 270 pubs across London and the South of England. Recently, they expanded by acquiring 48 City Pubs, further extending their reach. Their central website, youngs.co.uk, serves as the digital hub for this extensive network, enabling users to book tables, reserve hotel stays, explore events, discover sustainability practices, browse career opportunities, and stay up-to-date on live sports and seasonal menus.

The Challenge

With such a diverse portfolio of pubs, we needed to create a digital experience that would resonate with a broad audience—from professionals and tourists to families, foodies, and sports fans. The goal was to provide a seamless, intuitive experience that reflects Young’s rich heritage while embracing modern functionality.

Key Highlights of the Young’s Website

  • Personalised pub experience: An intuitive filter system helps users find pubs based on specific criteria, such as atmosphere, amenities, live sports, and event spaces. This makes it easier than ever to discover the perfect venue for any occasion.
  • Mobile-first excellence: We optimised the website for mobile-first browsing, catering to the 70% of users who access the site via their mobile devices.
  • Optimised performance: Powered by the latest headless technology, the site achieved excellent Google Page Speed Insights scores, ensuring faster load times and overall enhanced user satisfaction.
  • Showcasing Young’s commitment to sustainability: The website also highlights Young’s dedication to sustainability, British-sourced food, and community engagement—key pillars of the brand’s mission.

The Results

Since the launch in November 2024, the Young’s website has achieved outstanding results:

  • 70,304 users visited the site, with 93,375 sessions recorded in just two months.
  • Average session duration increased from 1:39 minutes to 3:06 minutes, indicating deeper engagement with the enhanced content.
  • Conversions and engagement spiked, with 5,656 clicks on the Book Now buttons, driving a noticeable increase in reservations and bookings.

This project highlights the power of collaboration and innovation. Propeller’s design and development team worked closely with Young’s to create a website that not only reflects the brand’s legacy, but also enhances the customer journey.
